Power Tour 2007
Wednesday, May 15
St. Louis, MO to Springfield, IL

“Back In The Saddle Again”

Awake in my own bed. Surprise Pamela and Robert. March with both when Barney comes on TV. Love that purple dinosaur. Start planning for exit to meet Tour as it comes through St. Louis. Open garage — there sits Way Cool Mothers® Vortech Mustang.

Remove Evolution 4 car cover. Fire the beast. Get oil changed, load samples, hose and other car care items. Remember luggage — load it too. Radar detector, Club, loose change, small farm animals, fill car to gills. Looks like low rider — just perfect for poor Chicago area streets.

Callaway guys call as they approach St. Louis — I meet them at Arch and away we go. I am lead since it’s my town. Running 85+ trying to catch rest of group when we see Illinois trooper in median. He sprains neck as we go by, but doesn’t move. Our lucky day. Catch tail end of Tour as we hit Springfield, Illinois. Check in hotel. They are doing us favor by patching holes in parking lot with asphalt and tar. Great opportunity to show other Tourers how well car wash work as tar remover.

Savas tells us to head for reserved parking places at Rock & Roll Hardees. We blast off. Throngs of locals part like Dead Sea as we arrive. Find cool parking place. Many persons. Many cars. Apply new SHOWTIME Instant Detailer to Way Cool Mothers® Vortech Mustang.

Give out samples. Give away T-Shirts. Eat all Hardees we want for free. Whoopee. More burgers. Boring.

Savas comes by to inform us vendors have dinner meeting at 9:00 PM in hotel restaurant. Good excuse to leave as burn-out contest starts on street. Cops are rooting for the blown Willys, but wisely stand back in case it goes ballistic.

Big dinner meeting — much drinking, laughing, discussion. Based on crowds growing as we go East, Jim wants us to leave early so we have chance to get primo parking and set up booths at Lansing, IL. Suggests we leave at 9:00 AM — Tour to leave at 10:00. Gene from Centerforce offers to lead. Others vote Gene down based on his average 100 MPH LA to Vegas run. I offer, then Callaway guys complain about inability to stay up with Way Cool Mothers® Vortech Mustang. Savas notes, then suggests I sabotaged SLEPE 63 so I could drive Ford instead. Many others agree.

In end we pick Gus from Jet. His black SS Wagon will be good police fodder if we are spotted.

Retire to rooms to prepare for assault on Lansing, IL.
